"Madonna dell'olivo" Farm
Madonna dell'Olivo is a farm that takes its name from an ancient sanctuary dedicated to the Holy Virgin, located nearby. Founded in 2003 by Antonino Mennella in Serre, in the province of Salerno, it is nestled in the hills that gently descend towards the ancient excavations of Paestum. This privileged position, characterized by a unique microclimate, is ideal for the cultivation of centuries-old olive trees, from which the highest quality extra virgin olive oils are born, such as the Campania evo oil and the Salerno province evo oil.
The cultivars
Antonino Mennella is passionately dedicated to enhancing the particularities of each cultivar, producing monovarietal and blended extra virgin olive oils that stand out for their excellence and international recognition. The products of the Madonna dell'olivo company are award-winning extra virgin olive oils where the pitted EVO oils of the different Cultivars produced stand out, both monocultivar and blend, which represent the most authentic expression of the territory, including Cilento.
The olive harvest
The olives are harvested strictly by hand and pressed within a few hours in the company mill, a method that guarantees the freshness and integrity of the final product. This care allows to obtain oils such as Cilento extra virgin olive oil and pitted extra virgin olive oil, famous for their unique organoleptic characteristics and for being among the most appreciated extra virgin olive oils in Campania.
The olive trees
Madonna dell'Olivo also stands out for the cultivation of over 2,000 olive trees spread over 6 hectares of land, a heritage that is managed with innovative and sustainable methods. The company is known for using a state-of-the-art continuous-cycle mill with cold pressing, which allows oil to be extracted exclusively from pitted olives. This approach, respectful of the environment and biodiversity, is synonymous with quality and respect for the territory of the province of Salerno.
Research
Thanks to Antonino Mennella's vision, the company has set up a research laboratory where native olive varieties are studied with great attention. This process guarantees a superior quality final product, recognized among the best award-winning extra virgin olive oils.
