The IQO Certification
IQO (Index Qualitatis Oleum) is a specific certification for extra virgin olive oil (EVO), designed to enhance the natural nutritional properties of this quality product. This certification, recognized in the quality EVO oil market, is the result of scientific research conducted by the “Neurofarba” Department of the University of Florence. Thanks to the innovative NVS algorithm, developed during this research, it is possible to carry out an evaluation of the quality of the oil based on the presence of over twenty beneficial molecules, including antioxidants and essential fatty acids, fundamental for health and well-being.
The certification process
The IQO certification process is completely digital, ensuring food transparency and giving consumers greater confidence in certified products. Each batch of IQO certified EVOO receives a distinctive label, which includes a unique QR code and serial number. This code allows consumers to easily verify the nutritional characteristics and chemical-nutritional quality parameters of the certified product, facilitating the choices of consumers attentive to nutrition and healthy food.
