Frosini Lorenzo Farm
Lorenzo Frosini is a young 22-year-old farmer who wanted to do business in the countryside, tackling the hard but genuine work in the fields. Despite its young age, it boasts a long tradition that comes from over three generations of farmers and shepherds. The Frosini Lorenzo farm, located in Val D'Aniene between the Ruffi and Simbruini mountains (Castel Madama, ROME) is a very young reality that was founded just in 2016, but which represents the continuation of the work started a century ago by the grandparents and at the same time for a renaissance.
Today the company, which has become organic, pursues an ambitious triple objective:
that of the production of food excellence through a sustainable model;
the recovery of abandoned crops;
that of custody, through the registration in the Conservation and Safety Network of some tree species cataloged in the Regional Voluntary Register of native genetic resources, which are of agricultural interest at risk of erosion;
Among these species we find olive trees, such as the local Rosciola, and fruits such as the Spadona pear of Castel Madama and the Coscia di Monaca plum tree; moreover, through the planting, of the Azzeruolo Rosso (a miniature apple that comes with small pomes with a maximum diameter of 5 centimeters with a very particular flavor, between sweet and sour).
The orographic-morphological composition and the presence of widespread rocks do not always allow the use of mechanical equipment and the accentuated steepness is the main obstacle that makes agricultural activity not easy.
On some lands a rotation of horticultural productions and hemp growing is practiced; on others the production of fruit such as pears, apples, plums and hazelnuts which are transformed into jams by specialized laboratories with rigorously artisanal processing.
In most of the lands, olive growing of different varieties of olives is practiced, with the consequent result of having a multiplicity of flavors and aromas. The Frosini Lorenzo farm is located in the area that has obtained the IGP mark (IGP "Oil of Rome) and produces an organic extra virgin olive oil with Leccino, Rosciola, Frantoio and Pendolino varieties, a multivarietal or "BLEND" of excellent quality with a fruity taste with spicy bitterness and notes of Grass, Tomato, Almond and Artichoke with a very low acidity, only 0.2 which combines excellently with various dishes
